For us, helping students realize their college dreams is truly a family affair
I'm Margot, a college essay instructor and certified high school English teacher. As an undergraduate student at Villanova University, my love for writing blossomed, and I was chosen to oversee the on-campus writing center where students would come for writing assistance. I had the opportunity to help countless students in the writing center draft effective essays, and it was there that my love for teaching writing developed. During my college summers, I began teaching high school students how to write exceptional Common App personal statements.
I developed the proven strategies that are included in Write it Right!
My father Mark, a New York attorney and published author, shares my passionĀ for writing and student success. While at St. Johnā€™s Law, he was a Senior Member of the Law Review and similarly assisted fellow law students seeking writing assistance as part of his Law Review responsibilities, which is incidentally how he met my mother! Legal writing requires precision, focus and efficiency, and so does course writing. He was instrumental in implementing my in-person essay tutoring approach into ourĀ Write it Right! online course.
Together, we formed Admissions Gurus to bring Write it Right! to students online, not just my in-person pupils
We specifically designed the course to work best remotely since this "distance" guarantees your essay will be written in YOUR unique voice, but with OUR proven structure. Write it Right! students enjoy the best of both worlds: the step-by-step blueprint I have spent years creating in a remote, online format that precludes our voice, however unintentional, from permeating student essays during the tutoring process.
